note

In J.League, all teams play each other two times (each at home and away) in each stage.
When regulation time of league match play fails to determine a winner, teams play a 'V-goal'(golden-goal) extra time. If the match is still undecided, the winning team is decided in a penalty shoot-out.

J.League Championship team is winner of play-off matches for the championship, and runner-up is loser of the matches. Rankings below third place are determined by adding the points for the both stages.
Teams are allotted three points for a win including an extra time win and a penalty shoot-out win, one point for a shoot-out extra time loss, and no points for a loss except shoot-out extra time loss.
The ranking is determined as follows: 1) total of all points, 2) goal difference, 3) total of goals.

Points
  • 3: a Win
  • 1: a Loss in shoot-out
  • 0: a Loss

Five football clubs, Blux, Futures (ex-PJM), Purple Sanga (three in last year), Vissel and Brummel, become associate clubs of J.League.

J.League shall add two teams to the league in next season.
The top two teams of Japan Football League, Blux and Purple Sanga, are promoted to J.League.
