In 1972, Japan Soccer League implementes a two-division system.
Seven football teams of business companies including Fujitsu (in Kanagawa), Nippon Light Metal (in Shizuoka), Toyoda, Toyota (both in Aichi), Tanabe, Dainichi Cables and T&T Public Kinki (both in Osaka) and three clubs including Yomiuri (in Tokyo), Kofu soccer club (in Yamanashi) and Kyoto Shiko (in Kyoto) organized Japan Soccer League division-2. (Toyoda was an original member of Japan Soccer League in 1965.)
